Hi, I’m Steve Thearle, an Isle of Wight photographer with long experience in commercial, property, architectural, PR and wedding photography.

Since graduating from Guildford School of Photography, I have been a prominent Isle of Wight photographer for several decades. I co-owned and ran a photographic studio here for 20 years and helped tens of thousands of individuals, families and businesses show themselves to best advantage. Many happy clients including English Heritage, the National Trust, Southern Housing, GKN Aerospace…

Architectural and Property Photography

I understand the subtleties of drawing the viewer into a selling shot.   Also, you’ll find that I’m very reliable at getting work finished in the time-scale expected (as far as the British climate allows). With the seller and buyer always in mind I strive to maintain the highest possible standards.

Commercial Photography

I’m well acquainted with working in factories, creating the desired images whilst keeping the company’s production disruption to a minimum. I’ve worked widely in the aerospace, composite and electronic industries; also building projects and design studios and with all levels of trade and management.  >>gallery

Artists’ Artwork

As an ex art-school student I have a special affinity towards the work of artists and makers.  It is an important part of my life to be involved  and contribute images to help promote their work.

Tourism

I’m rarely without my camera and am consumed with exploring and recording the world around me.  As a result I have a growing collection of images with which I’ve made a stock library. You can view it here: http://www.wight-photos.co.uk

Wedding Photography

I have photographed  hundreds of weddings in over 3 decades, mostly on the Isle of Wight.  My style? Fuss free, ‘quiet professionalism’, tasteful traditional images combined with some contemporary observation that hopefully won’t make you wince in 10 or 20 years time.  If you love the idea of reportage and don’t want to spend too much of the day posing formally, then I’m sure our aims will be in harmony. Portraits

I do understand the stresses and fears associated with having your portrait taken, whether it be for a present for Granny or for business purposes. I have long experience of helping my sitters feel at ease in order to produce a result that they are happy with.
